The Florida Gators basketball team is a member of the Southeastern Conference and compete in Divison I play.  The team is led by Coach Billy Donovan who has been with the team since 1996.  Coach Donovan recently re-signed with the Florida Gators basketball team in 2007.  He is now the highest-paid coach in all of college basketball: $3.5 million each year.  Under Coach Donovan, the Florida Gators basketball team has enjoyed all winning seasons.  Is he worth the money?  We'll watch the 2008 season to make a final determination!

Florida Gators basketball fans already know and love Coach Donovan and are glad to have him back with the team.  Fans wear school colors of orange and blue and dance along with alligator mascots Albert and Alberta, one of the few co-ed mascots in college history. 

The Florida Gators basketball team was established in 1915 and with only 6 games, the team went 5-1.  This set the tone for future winning seasons, which the Florida Gators went on to have plenty of wins over the rest of their history in Gainesville.
