Sugar Bowl Recap
By Florida Gators Football Tickets Staff Writer: R. Murray
Sugar Bowl Recap:
Louisville safety Calvin Pryor knew that the Cardinals would dominate against Florida in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. And this was the truth.
Terell Floyd returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown on the first play, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater directed a few scoring drives and No. 22 Louisville stunned the fourth-ranked Gators 33-23 in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday night.
Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel, who had thrown only three interceptions all season, turned the ball over three times on two interceptions -- both tipped passes -- and a fumble. He finished 16 of 29 for 175 yards.
The star; Teddy Bridgewater:
Of Louisville’s 185 first-half yards, 180 came off Bridgewater’s arm. The Cardinals (11-2) raced out to a 24-3 lead before holding on for their first victory in a BCS bowl. Florida (11-2), which had not given up more than 26 points in any game all season, couldn’t stop Bridgewater.
Both Teams Ended with Great Records:
Louisville and Florida each finished with great seasons at 11-2. Gators head coach Will Muschamp said, “We were outcoached and outplayed," . “This is a sour day."
